Fragmented Hard Drive and Downloading Movies
My husband and I have a serious difference in movie preferences. Sure we can agree on some movies like sci-fi and action flicks, but that is where the similarities end. He is a deep thinker and enjoys dramas. He is also a big brave man and loves a good horror movie. I, on the other hand, am a fraidy cat and refuse to watch horror movies and would much rather watch a romance (I’m sure you can guess his reaction to that). This means that we don’t always want to watch the same movie. When this happens we leave the living room television alone and each grab our laptop. (Yes, we each have a laptop because we are that geeky).
This is where being a geek comes in truly handy. We can each download whatever movie we want to see, plug in our headsets and zone out. Pretty relaxing, right? No fights about who gets to watch what movie, no stress about getting your way and knowing your sweetie is unhappy. The only thing that could ruin this bliss is a fragmented hard drive.
Heh. You wouldn’t have been expecting that if it weren’t for the post title, huh? Oh well. I guess I wouldn’t make it as a writer for a suspense movie. Anyway a fragmented hard drive can do several things to interrupt your movie nirvana. First, it can slow down the download. If you are a patient person you might not even notice the delay. I, however, am what pretty much everyone considers extremely impatient. I want it my way, now. Not thirty seconds from now, but right now.
The way I make sure I get what I want when I want it is to regularly defrag my hard drive. How often I do it depends on how often I’m downloading movies and what else I’ve been using my computer. If I’m only watching movies I’d probably defrag every third or fourth movie just to keep up the download speed. Yeah…I’m that impatient.
Has downloading movies helped make your relationship happier? Does a slow download time make you catty??
