Defrag for Faster Movie Downloads

I love watching movies. I like all genres except horror. I know, I know….I’m a big baby. But they always give me nightmares and I see no reason to subject myself to a sleepless night for a movie I’m not even going to like. Back to the movies I do like. I like comedies, romances, sci-fi (a lot), and action movies where things get blown up (like these the most actually). For the longest time my husband and I just bought whatever movies we wanted to watch because we realized it was cheaper than all the late fees we were racking up at the movie rental place in town.

With the advent of the Internet (yay progress!) came the glorious advancement of movie watching technology….downloading movies. Now we watch even more movies than before (because it is way cheaper). I’d say we watch three to five movies each week. Some are old movies we own but most are movies we download.

The only problem with downloading movies is that depending on what you are downloading, and from where, it can take a little time. By a little I mean slightly more than loading your dvd player. Movie junkies that we are, however, we don’t like to wait. We’ve found that by regularly defragging our computer the downloads move along more smoothly. Apparently having to find temporary space amidst all of that fragmentation takes longer so we just spend the time each week to defrag the system. Poof, downloads at the speed of…light?
